Celebrate Toledo Ballet Founder and Artistic Director Emerita Marie Bollinger Vogt by contributing to the endowment named in her honor to perpetuate superb dance in our community. Whether you studied under Madame Vogt for a month or more than a decade, you know that the studio that she created and the training she provided for more than 50 years is one of Toledo’s jewels. Help ensure her legacy as we dance ever closer to a centennial celebration!
Fredericka “Freddie” Constance Rapp ∼ April 1, 1944 – June 3, 2016
Toledo Ballet alumna, Freddie Rapp passed away suddenly just days after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. At her celebration of life, Freddie’s unbridled passion for dance was highlighted. She began ballet lessons as a young child and each year, while studying at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, she chose to remain on campus over the Christmas holiday so she could perform in The Nutcracker each season. After marrying John Rapp and starting a family, the Rapps moved to Toledo for John’s work and brought Freddie to Toledo Ballet studios for the following decade. Freddie is fondly remembered by her dance peers at Toledo Ballet, as well as Toledo Ballet Founder and Artistic Director Emerita Marie Vogt.
Her husband, John reflected, “Freddie had a very competitive spirit and she enjoyed the physical challenges inherent in the art of Ballet. Performing was a passion which served to nourish and renew her soul. She loved to dance.”
The Fredericka Constance Rapp Endowed Fund is housed with the Toledo Community Foundation. Please check “Gift is in support of an Existing Fund” and type “Fredericka Rapp Endowment” in the box.
